Switzerland 7-day in September - itinerary inputs/feedback

Hi all, my husband and I will be in Switzerland for 7 days in September and I have put together this itinerary and would like inputs or feedback from travelers who have been there and I would like to know if this itinerary is efficient as well as the accommodation. Day 1-2, we’re planning to stay in Bern and Day 3-7, we’re planning to stay in Interlaken.

Day 1 – Zurich
Day 2 – Luzern
Day 3 – Interlaken
Day 4 – Murren, Birg and Gimmelwald
Day 5 - Wengen
Day 6 – Lauterbrunnen Valley
Day 7 – Grindelwald First

Thank you so much in advance for your time, I greatly appreciate it.

Where are you going after Day 7? Back to Zurich airport for a flight home?

If you want to visit Luzern, why stay in Bern?

Going all the way to Switzerland and staying in Interlaken is suboptimal. Wengen would be more central and IN the Alps rather than close to the Alps.

After day 7, we are taking the Bernina Express from Chur to Tiranom then to MIlan. We are staying in a friend's apartment in Bern.

I've heard Interlaken is a good place to stay as a base to go to places (for day 4-7) I have listed above.. or Wengen is a better place to stay and still close to get by to those places/towns?

Thanks Sam for your time and feedback. I appreciate it.

Please don't stay in Interlaken, especially if you are spending the days exploring Murren, Lauterbrunnen and the Jungfrau area. Stay in Murren, Wengen or Lauterbrunnen. First time I stayed in Interlaken to visit the BO. Since then (and have visited 4 other times) I stay in Lauterbrunnen or Wengen. Easy day trips to all the places you want to visit from either of the three places. No need to travel back and forth from Interlaken.

Have fun!

Interlaken to Chur to Tirano to Milan is doubtfully doable in a single day. Better would be a 2-day trip with a stopover in Chur. Do you have your seat reservations for the Bernina Express?

Sam, yes, I did reserve a seat for the Bernina Express.

Which Bernina Express departure? On your departure day (Day 8)?
