Hi! I am living in Basel right now and would love to help. Do you have any plans in Switzerland so far? And when are you arriving? I can suggest a lot of places in Switzerland. The best plan of action to get to Paris is to leave from Basel, Switzerland, it is about four hours by train. I am not for sure how far Paris to Amsterdam is, but I would suggest flying. Easy jet, Wizz air, and Ryan Air are great companies to fly with. It may cost more but the saving of time will save you some hassle.

Myswitzerland.com has great ideas for ten days!! You can plan it really well. Do you plan on renting a car?

Must sees are Luzerne, lausanna, Interlaken, Appenzel, Lake Wallensee, St. Moritz, Zermatt.
This is a good idea: https://www.myswitzerland.com/en-ch/road-trip.html

The train from Paris to Amsterdam takes about 3-1/2 hours. We bought our tickets on Thalys. It’s a nice high speed train. Buy your tickets online from SNCF, the French train company. There’s a rail strike through the end of June so you will want to check the calendar for the published strike days. You did not mention when you are traveling.

What do you want to do in Switzerland? Are you walkers/hikers? What time of year are you going? Hve you decided on departure and arrival cities, i.e., into AMS and out of Zurich or ???

Take the funicular from Murren up to Allmendhubel to a children's fun park. It is free and will keep you kids entertained for hours. From there walk down the Children's Adventure trail back to Murren. Our kids loved it.

We are leaving June 24 th and have a 4 year old, from whatever I’ve read the public transportation is amazing and no need to rent a car . Does 10 days in swistzerland and 4 days in Amsterdam and 4 in Paris make sense ?

I hope I am wrong, but this question , to me, implies you have not made hotel reservations as you seem to be questioning how long to spend in your various destinations. I truly hope your preparations are further along than what your posts suggest to me of your level of readiness for the trip

I think it is safe to say that the end of June is in prime tourist season in all those places and finding accommodations at this relatively late date could be challenging.

Do you have a tour book of your destinations to aid in choosing what interests you and what you want to do and where you want to go.

To help, we need more info . See my question above. What do you want to do I’m Switzerland? Are you walkers/hikers? Do you want to ride scenic trains or sit by a lake? City or scenic countryside? Where are you flying into and out of?

We could do small moderate hikes with a 4 year old . City countryside lake would be preference . We are landing June 24 flying into Zürich and back the USA from Amsterdam . Should we reduce our days in swistzerland and add Bruges and Normandy ? Thank you so much .
