We plan to rent a car in Switzerland. We want to go on lake cruises, gondolas museums etc. Is the half price card worth the cost?

Do you plan on taking any of those high mountain private rails to the the Jungfraujoch? If so, the Half Fare Card will get you a 50% discount of that expensive trip. If you're going to be spending a lot of time on boats, gondolas (and probably trains) then why do you need a rental car?

The Half-Fare Card only applies to transportation, not to museums, versus the Swiss Travel Pass, which covers most museums on your counted travel days.
