Are you aware of the current sale? Details here:

https://www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/swiss-travel-pass-25-off-until-11-december-2021

If you purchase from one of the websites mentioned in the link above you can receive the sale price. It does appear that Rail Europe is offering the discount.

This is the website I used earlier this year to purchase my Pass for my 2021 trip and will use this same site again to purchase a Pass for my 2022 trip.

They will send you an email and you can print out the pass and there will be a link to add the Pass to the wallet on your smart phone.

Actually, RailEurope is offering the 25% discount on Swiss Travel Passesa, and you can buy them (with the discount) right here on the RS website:

https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/transportation/trains/switzerland-rail-passes

You are paying in $$ if you buy from RS, so check the current exchange rate carefully, and compare the price in $$ to the price in euros (as offered in the first link posted) and the price in CHF if you bought from SBB. If your credit card imposes foreign transaction fees, buying in $$ can be an advantage—-but you still need to compare the prices because the exchange rate may not be favorable.

The Rick Steves site is merely a link through to Raileurope.

Yes, that is what I was trying to say, although maybe it didn’t come out that way.

The point is that RailEurope does sell the Swiss Pass, and sometimes there is an advantage to buying it there rather than from Switzerland or a European vendor. I remember there was one year when I saved around $80 by buying our Swiss Passes from the Rick Steves site rather than buying them in Switzerland or online from the Swiss Travel system, because of the exchange rate fluctuations.

It is all the same pass, and you do have a choice in where you purchase it from. So do check the price with the different vendors, and consider other factors like convenience, postage fees if buying a paper pass rather than digital, etc.
