Swiss travel passes

Help! Trying to understand the various options.
My wife & I are traveling from Zurich to Interlaken where we will be based for 5 days. We travel to Munich for a set tour, and when that ends, intend to travel back to Switzerland to a new base, possibly Lucerne, before returning to Zurich after 5 days.
2 questions - what would be the best options for travel passes, assuming that we will be doing some travel on most days? And, what is the best way of organising the travel to/from Munich - assuming that we want to go by train, rather than fly, and how is the best way of booking these.
Ok - that was 3 question - math not a strong point :-(

How long will you be in Munich?
Will you be using the rails for day trips while in Interlaken and Luzern?
It is easy to buy rail tickets to and from Munich. If your schedule is set, your best option is to buy these tickets in advance. You can check prices at both www.sbb.ch and www.bahn.com.

We will be in Munich ( or on a tour going from Munich) for about 10 days before we return to Switzerland.
As we do not have a car, we will be relying on public transport while in Switzerland for both legs of the journey. As for how much we will be using the network, that will depend a bit on the weather (any suggestions on what that will be like?), and therefore whether we will be doing day trips to views, or to centres like Bern etc.

Any views on what class of travel one should book for the train tickets (first, second, or other?) - is there much of a difference between the classes?
Thanks for the response- hope the clarifications help.

I think the 30 day Half Fare would work. If you have more than 240 chf of rail tickets per person in Switzerland, you will come out ahead.
You might find find that buying Sparpreis (nonrefundable, nonchangeable) tickets 90 days in advance will get you a good price from www.bahn.com.
2nd class is perfectly good for Switzerland and Germany. Sometimes you can get 1st class German tickets at just a bit more than 2nd class, especially if you want seat reservations. They come gratis with 1st class, but cost 4.50 euro per person for 2nd class.

You didn't ask; but if I were planning your trip I might switch out Lucerne (which is beautiful) for Lausauune/Geneva. Longer trip/to/from Zurich but a beautiful and different area which is more lake than mountain
Just my 2 cents
