Swiss Travel Pass vs Point to Point tickets

Hello!

My husband and I are going to Switzerland next week! June 18-June 22 we will be in Lucerne and all of our expenses will be paid for. On June 22, we are heading to Murren til June 24th. I know we definitely have a train from Lucerne to Murren and Murren to Zurich. Outside of that, we plan to do a lot of hiking while we are in Murren. Is it worth getting a pass or just to pay for point to point tickets. When looking at different hiking and biking options, it often says "Hike/bike here, hop on the train here, etc" Just trying to see what makes sense. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We went to Murren last year from Zurich. It was much cheaper for us to do the point to point. We got tickets to Lauterbrunnen and then bought up to Murren and back. Easy Peasy and a ton of fun. Enjoy, we are going back to the Lauterbrunnen valley. Also, while you are there be sure to hike to Gimmelwald so many photo ops. larry

Luzern to Muerren is 51.80 CHF. Muerren to Zurich airport is 84.80 CHF. That is 136.40 total. The break even point for a Half Fare Card is 240 CHF, a 3-day travel Pass is 225 CHF, and only gives half off of some mountain lifts. Looks to me like point-to-point tickets will be best deal and you still have 100 CHF to spend on other lifts and still be ahead of the game.
