A taxi and driver will not get you up the mountains in lifts....

Sagarwal, Taxis are more expensive than trains in Switzerland. Do not plan to travel between towns by taxi. And roads, unlike railways and cable-cars, do not go to the top of mountains. Usually the road ends at the station at the bottom of the mountain where you change from a normal train to a cable-car.
You haven’t said where you will be staying. You need to have a plan listing where and for how many nights you will be staying. You can then work out the cost of your day trips, and your travel between each place you will be staying.

A map of Swiss Railways, showing the validity of the Swiss Travel Pass is here: http://www.sbb.ch/content/dam/sbb/de/pdf/freizeit-ferien/ferien-kurztrips-schweiz/internationale-gaeste/sts-geltungsbereich.pdf

Do not stay in Interlaken. Go the extra 20 minutes by train to Lauterbrunnen and stay there or up in Wengen or Muerren for a more "in the mountains" experience. As you family group is large, look for apartments. This will save you some money as you can usually stay for far less than the price of the two (at least) hotel rooms you would need. I have used VRBO.com as well as Chalet.MySwitzerland to find suitable apartments. We prefer Lauterbrunnen for ease of access to both sides of the valley. This VRBO apartment is very nice and convenient.

We also found an apartment in Zermatt that was a good deal on Booking.com. It is not big enough for all of you but I think he has two apartments in the same building.

Sagarwal, Train (with connecting buses for small places) is almost always the best way to travel in Switzerland.

Most Swiss restaurants offer at least one vegetarian option, many Swiss are vegetarians. There are lots of Indian tourists, and they don't starve! For example try googling "Vegetarian Lauterbrunnen".
If you want to eat cheap (cheap for Switzerland at least), the two largest supermarket chains are Migros and Coop. Both have buffet restaurants in their larger branches (usually the largest branch in each town) and they always offer a vegetarian option.

Try and travel light. If anybody complains tell them they can bring it if they carry it themselves :-)

As Rick notes, since Bollywood starting featuring Swiss landscapes in their films, Indian tourism has skyrocketed. You should check resources in India itself for help with Swiss tourism, perhaps even having a travel agency help plan your trip for you.
