My wife and are in Pienza and will be spending one night in Como before taking the slow train over the Alps to Lucerne. We will be in Switzerland for 10 days so I want to get a Swiss Travel Pass and use it from Como forward. I think I could do it via epass anytime before leaving Italy but are there better options?

You can purchase the STP easily on line, directly from SBB. Safe travels!

Watch out though. The validity of the pass starts in Chiasso. You’ll need a ticket for the little bit till there.
