Swiss Travel Pass Promo

This doesn't help me, because my travel to Switzerland isn't until Sept. of next year, but there's an upcoming promo for the Swiss Travel Pass and Swiss Travel Pass Flex. I thought I'd pass this info along to others.

If you buy your pass in July of 2021, you get a 25% discount. It appears that you can pick any start date up to 11 months in the future, and can cancel and get a refund until 1 day prior to travel. This appears to mean, for example, that if you want a pass to start on June 15, 2022, you can buy it on July 1 through 15 of this year and save 25%. However, don't rely on that example. I can't see all the details yet since it's just an "upcoming" promo. I found about it through the website of MySwissAlps.com.

I also read on MySwissAlps.com that prices will be lowered for next year. So, you will be able to get a good price next year too.

I saw the new rates too. Great new lower rates for the 8 and 15 day passes! We need 9 days, a pass not offered. I figured out that a 15 day pass will be the way to go. We'll be buying 6 days we don't need but it's only 20 CHF more than an 8 day flex pass, and the latter would require us to buy point-to-point tickets on one of our days.

We're traveling as a group of 10 and MySwissAlps.com can also arrange for us get a group discount. It's a customized quote that is provided to the group when they are ready to buy, but the example they gave me a week ago was that if we were then buying 10 eight-day passes, they'd give our group a discount of 150 CHF. I assume you can't get both a group discount and a 25% off promo.

Please note that on the ricksteve.com page linked to in the above post, the affiliate link to My Swiss Travel's half price card page is broken. The affiliate links to the the Swiss Travel Pass and Swiss Travel Pass Flex work fine.
