Swiss Travel Pass - Cruise from Interlaken OST to Iseltwald-Giessbach to Interlaken OST

My husband and I have each have a 15 day Swiss Travel Pass. We want to book a round-trip cruise on Lake Brienz from Interlaken OST to Iseltwald-Giessbach to Interlaken OST. When I try to get the discount, it asked for customer number. I read that this is for locals with a Swiss Pass. Is it even necessary to book ahead? I don't want to show up and have the boat be full or long waits, if it's possible to avoid.

Thank you!

It is not necessary to book ahead, and with a Swiss Travel Pass, it is free. Just board the boat and show your pass when asked. It operates just like a train or a bus. It is not that special.

Your pass IS your ticket. That’s the whole point of having a pass, it means you don’t have to buy tickets for included routes. You just walk on the boat and when someone comes around checking tickets while the boat is moving, you show your pass.

Boats don’t fill up, because people are constantly getting on/off. They’re just packed.

This is what I thought, but you can never be too sure. I'm taking a ferry near home next week and needed to booked way ahead or else we wouldn't have seats. Made me second guess the Swiss cruise. Thank you both!!

You cannot "book" this ferry, as it does not take reservations. You secure the seat you like by being on board early enough...
It is just first come, first serve. It would be very unusual for a boat to refuse passengers though.
