Swiss Travel Pass Coverage?

My husband & I are going to Switzerland for the first time in July 2025. Does anyone know if I purchase the Swiss Travel Pass will that include the train trip from Luzern to Montreux called the Global pass train route? Thank you! Pam from Missouri

Luzern to Montreux is covered by the Swiss travel pass . The train itself is " The Golden Pass " not Global pass

train travel and seat reservations are two different animals.

The Swiss Travel Pass gets you the train travel but does NOT guarantee you a seat. If you want to ensure a seat, particularly in what is perceived the "best" bit on the MOB into Montreux, you should consider that. If you have a second class pass you cannot travel in first class unless you pay a supplement, even if you bought a first class seat reservation.

Leaving Luzern towards Interlaken sit on the right hand side.

Adding to Nigel's comments , The MOB (Montreux - Oberland -Bernois Railway ) runs different sevices on the route , including a new express service direct from Interlaken , The best bit Nigel refers to is the leg between Zweisimmen and Montreux on the original 1931 Wagon-Lit Salon carriages . ( A fantasy step back to the past , quite nice , I must admit ) you will need a first class pass and a first class seat reservation for this , here is a link for more information at MOB - https://www.gpx.swiss/en/ and in this video , a bit on the original Golden Pass train ( The whole video , one hour is great https://youtu.be/Xb9vTT2Nqi8?si=DLiitI6wN0ZPrugD , the MOB section is at - 15:50
