Swiss Travel Pass and Bernina Express

Hi, I have swiss travel pass and 2 days to spare. I plan to take a scenic ride using Bernina Express...I think this is a whole day affair.

  1. Can someone please suggest if the ride is worthwhile?
  2. Also, is the Bernina Express covered in the Swiss Travel Pass?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the route is covered, and it's a beautiful ride. Seat reservations for the panorama trains are extra and bookable at https://www.rhb.ch/en/panoramic-trains/bernina-express. Adding the type of discount or pass that you have is on one of the last steps of the procedure, so you have to look at that whole ticket prices for a while before you get it knocked down to 16 chf one way. Other departures on the route don't require seat assignments but you change trains along the way.

Thanks. One more question, is it possible to get-off the train in one station and take another train for return? I plan to start from Landquart --> Tirano --> back Landquart. ... but get down at some picturesque town on the way.

I was looking at the below link... thinking the Train# 961 for onward trip. and use Train# 950, 962 for return trip.
Is it allowed?

Yes it is allowed to get off and take another train, but the seat reservation you paid for will end. Any other Bernina Express train will require you to buy another seat reservation. For regular trains, no seat reservation is required. There will be one every hour on either direction.
