Swiss Travel Pass

Does anyone know if this pass (2nd class) can be used on a train from Salzburg to Bern on the Swiss Railway? Also, we will be in the Berner Oberland area staying in Lauterbrunnen. Can the pass be used to get to Murren and Gimmelwald? I see that it gives a 50% discount on the cable car to Schilthorn. One more question - what about the train from Interlaken to Luzern? Can we use the pass or do we need to pay for an upgrade to 1st class and a seat reservation? We are planning to get the 8 day consecutive pass and will be leaving Salzburg May 29 and traveling to Bern, Murten, Thun, Lauterbrunnen, Luzern, and ending in Lugano on June 5 before we head to Italy.

From Salzburg, you would need a ticket to your first stop in Switzerland.

Yes, it will cover you to Murren and Gimmelwald. It’s when you go higher that the discounted rate applies.

You can ride 2nd class with the Pass from Interlaken to Luzern. You do not need a reservation.
