Swiss Train Pass Help

My husband and I (both healthy & in our early 70’s) have planned a trip to the Swiss and French Alps and are confused about all of the train travel options.

Arrival in Zurich on September 1
Immediately take train to Luzern for 2 days
Train to Murren for 4 nights
Train to Zermatt for 4 nights
Train to Chamonix for 5 nights
Train or bus to Lyon where we'll rent a car.

We are hoping to do many easy/moderate hikes and plan on several trips.
In Switzerland: Schilthorn, Jungfraujoch, Eiger Trail, Trummelbach Falls, Gornergrat railway, Riffelberg Express, Matterhorn Glacier Paradise.
In Chamonix: Aiguille du Midi, hike Argentière Glacier, Panoramic Mont Blanc cable car.

These are some ideas, but we are open to other suggestions. Specifically we’d really appreciate recommendations on the best combination of transport tickets we should get. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'd recommend the Half Fare Card for your portion in Switzerland. It's 120 chf and gives you 50% off everything you do in Switzerland. Then you can purchase your tickets on the SBB phone app, the SBB.ch/en website, the machines at the stations or from a human working at the station desks. SBB defaults to half fare card pricing and if you get the HFC you just want to make sure that you select that option when purchasing tickets.
