Thanks, Carrie. I just bought ours for September 23, for travel by boat and train from Luzern to Locarno, in 1st class. It turns out the Saver Day Pass is a few CHF more than buying the tickets this far in advance, because the SuperSaver tix on the train are so cheap. Ut it was worth getting the pass for the convenience of covering it all in one purchase.

Ugh, that's not good news... As I assume cheaper passes will sell out weeks or months before I even know that I am going to Switzerland 😂.
Thanks for the heads-up!

My thoughts exactly! It wasn't that long ago that they were sold only 30 days in advance, much nicer for those of us who don't plan quite so far ahead!

Thanks for posting, I would have been rudely surprised by this when I went to purchase one!

nope - when I was working I had to fit into the available days, now I am retired we decide based on gaps in hospital appointments, the weather, things we already have on, a what happens when we stick a finger in the air. We usually have some sort of vague idea of where we want to go a couple of weeks out, and I start making reservations a week or so out. Usually these change during the trip. But - I live here and we are usually in my car (says a man who worked on the railways for decades, and who still has some travel privileges).

Lola, are you staying in Locarno? Or just passing through? If you are staying, I will try to find you the name of this bakery we stopped at. We had the best little donut hole things. I’m sure that’s the correct name for them. 😊 My sister, brother-in-law and I did a day trip to Locarno in March. We stopped in Lugano for 2 nights on our way to Italy.
