Swiss rail saver day pass? Has anyone used?

Has anyone used a saver day pass in Switzerland? I will be traveling there next month and will only need to travel on two different days so a SwissPass or FlexiPass would not be a good a value.
The day pass seems like a good deal for my needs. I could purchase one for each of the days I’ll need to travel and it seems like it would be a good value and less expensive than point-to-point. Does it serve as a ticket? With a day pass would I need to reserve seats or can I show up at the station at the appointed time and go? Would I be able to stop along the way with a day pass?
Traveling Genève to Mürren on one travel day. Mürren back to Lausanne on the other. Might like to make a stop in Montreux on the way back. Any advice or pro/cons of the day pass appreciated. Thanks

If the Saver Day Pass is less expensive than the point-to-point ticket, then you should go for it. It is at the same time the most inexpensive and most flexible ticket for your route. Book it soon as it can sell out or the price may increase. Other than that there are no "cons".

As its name says, it is valid for a day and allows ulimited travels/stops within the area of validity.

You have to buy it online, either print it as PDF or have it with you on your phone. You must show an ID or passport with it during ticket control. Nothing easier than that!

I used it in January 2020, for a very quick 2 day run into Lucerne from Milan - and yes, it saved me some money. I saved mine on my phone in my Wallet (and I think I also had them in the SBB app, which I just took off a few weeks ago). Easy to use. We used them for the trip up Mt. Rigi, as well as the train back to Milan (the Swiss portion) - so yes, I used it in multiple places on that travel day.

I know I had seat reservations for the Milan to Lucerne leg but honestly can’t remember the rest.

We used it in 2019. Same as you, we had only two travel days, with 5 days in Wengen in between. The combination of two Saver day passes and the Berner Oberland pass while was simple to use and easily the best value for what we wanted to do.

Thanks so much! Helps to have the benefit of others’ experience. Going to go with the day pass.

I just bought a ticket Basel to Chur. Thought I was picking a specific time leaving/arriving, but when I got the pdf tickets the time starts at 0:00 on the correct date until 5:00 the next day. Ticket says Saver Day Pass but the From-to areas are blank. Ticket states ‘pass is valid for travel on GA Travelcard area routes in the relevant class’. Am I overly concerned expecting Basel and Chur to be listed?

When you buy a point-to-point ticket, the ticket shop may suggest a Saver Day Pass in the event the the cost for the SDP is lower than the point-to-point. A great deal!

There is everything alright with your Saver Day Pass, it is valid for the entire railway and bus network, no need to worry; Simply enjoy your ride :)

And... even point-to-point tickets are valid the entire day till 5 AM the next day. You can take as many stops as you want along the route, as long as you arrive before 5 AM :) The only restriction, it is valid for one-way, no backtracking allowed. Here in Switzerland you buy a ticket for a route, not for a specific connection/train (exception: the Supersaver ticket).
