I'm heading to CH for 7 weeks, and will be based out of Zurich, traveling to Bern on the weekend with occasional trips to Basel, Lausanne. All of the Swiss Rail Passes are valid for 4 weeks, not sure what I should do. Any other suggestions?

I would purchase the half fare card for one year at the rate of 185chf. The rate is 120chf for one month. This will save you half the fare on most trains, busses and boats.

I agree with the suggestion to buy an annual half fare card.
You can buy it an any manned station, you need to bring along a photo (or use the photo booths at most stations) and your passport for ID. They will need an address. This is because you will be given a provisional half fare card, valid from that day or whatever date you tell them and they will sent you the final card in the post a few days later.
One thing to note is the card is automatically renewed every year, and they will send you a new card and a bill in one year. If you do not want to renew, you have to cancel your subscription.
