Swiss Rail pass/Jungfrau pass family of 4 advice needed

Hello, so we are a family of four, two adults and two teens (14) that will be passing through Switzerland from Milan this summer for 4 nights. 2 nights in Wengen and then 2 nights in Lucerne.
We already booked a train from Milan to Spietz but we are unsure what we should book for our time in Switzerland. We need to travel from Spietz to Wengen the first day and then from Lucerne to Zurich the last day. So this winds up being 5 days of Swiss train travel. I am looking for some advice on purchasing the most cost efficient option while also being able to use the lifts in Jungfrau.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

The Berner Oberland Regional Pass will cover travel from Spiez to Lucerne. There is a 4-day pass available. Your fifth day, buy the tickets from Lucerne to Zurich. Note the BO Pass offers reduced cost to the Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn. Those trips are not totally included. Nice thing about the pass is it is also good for the Post Bus should you need to ride it through the valley or up to Isenfluh.

Laurel, that looks like the perfect pass for us. Does it also include the lifts in Wengen and Grindelwald? We plan on hiking around the First.
So I’m guessing we just order online and then they become valid on the first day of use?

Yes, we use it to go to First and if you hike to Gorsse Scheidegg, you can take the bus back to Grindelwald. Look at the map “Area of Validity” on the website I linked to and you will see that is covered at 100% as well as those routes with a discount (I.e., Jungfraujoch). You can buy online or at the station in Spiez.

Whatever you do make sure to get the free Swiss Family Card for your kids. They travel everywhere with you in Switzerland 100% free even to the expensive jungfrau.

So that means I just need to purchase two adult Berner Oberland Regional Passes and get the family card for our kids? I see that I can buy the BO pass online but where can I get the Family Card ahead of time? Or is that something I pick up when I arrive in Switzerland

Thanks.

No, the Swiss Travel System Family Card does not work with the Berner Oberland Pass, but there is a good deal available.
From the web site: https://www.regionalpass-berneroberland.ch/en/pass-and-infos/pricing/

CHILDREN / DOGS
For children 6 - 16 years (15.99) and dogs gives a Regional-Pass for CHF 30.-. The Junior-Card, Children's Co-Travelcard and the STS Family Card are not valid. Children groups (par example schools) can not buy regional passports for children.

That website also gives the map of validity for the pass.

What is everyone’s thoughts on getting a Swiss Half Fare Card and Swiss Family card? Would my kids (age 14) be able to ride the cable cars for free with us?
