swiss pass plus global pass?

I will be doing 8 travel days in Switzerland over 14 days and then Germany, Austria, Prague, Germany again with 10 travel days in 30 days. Should I buy a Gobal pass for 2 months or Buy a swiss pass for 8 travel days (to get the in country discounts) and then buy a 10 travel day global pass for the remainder of my trip??

In Switzerland - get either a Half Fare Card or a Swiss Travel Pass. For the rest of your travels just buy point to point. Don't get messed up in the Eurail (global pass?) game.

You guys are great......i was afraid the global pass might not be the bargain they claim it to be....here is my itinerary (the reason I thought the Swill pass would be better is because it apparently covers most of the boat rides and funiculars) - didn't know if was appropriate to post the whole thing, but I'll save a buck if i can:
-Zurich to Appenzell (2 nights)
-Appenzell to Luzern (2 nights)
-Luzern to Lugano (1 night)
-Lugano to Pontresina (Bernina Express) (2 nights)
Pontresina to Zermatt (2 nights)
Zermatt to Lausanne (1 night)
Lausanne to Gimmelwald via Interlaken (3 nights)
Gimmelwarld to Zurich via Berne (4 nights)
Zurich to Munich (4 nights)
Munich to Fussen (2 nights)
Fussen to Innsbruck via Duette (1 night)
Innsbruck to Hallstatt (2 nights)
Hallstatt to Salzburg (3 nights)
Salzburg to Melk (1 night)
Melk to Vienna (5 nights)
Vienna to Prague (3 nights)
Prague to Berlin (4 nights)
Fly back to Zurich for flight home

So I can get the 15 day SWISS PASS for $561.00 and the 4 country GLOBAL PASS for 625.00 to take me from Zurich thru Germany to Austria to Prague to Berlin. What do you all think??? I'm not crazy about buying train tickets for specific times ahead of time, but I would buy them when I land somewhere for my departure a few days later.
