We have purchased the Swiss pass thru rail Europe. We have a confirmation email but don’t know how to acquire the actual passes. Also, how do you then book a ticket with the Swiss pass covering the cost? Any help figuring this out would be appreciated
They should have sent you your pass via email.
If you’re on a route that the Swiss Travel Pass fully covers you don’t buy a ticket at all - your pass is your ticket. When they come through the train checking tickets you show them your pass and ID.
Check your confirmation email to see if there is a link to access the pass. According to the Rail Europe site, you should be able to print the pass and/or use the e-ticket from your phone.

I don't purchase my passes from rail europe, but the company i purchase mine from sends 2 emails. The first is a confirmation and the second contains links to the pass. So, check for a second email. Check your junk email folder as sometimes things end up there.
Thanks! I will check that out.
Most Swiss trains don’t require (or even allow) you to “book a ticket”. The pass is your ticket. You just hop on the train. There are no reserved seats. Just sit anywhere in the class that you bought the pass for.
The exceptions are the panoramic trains which do require a reservation for a separate fee. In which case you just pay the reservation fee.
