Victorinox?
and where are they the least costly?
In the regular United States of America.
There are all kinds of Swiss Army knives from the simplest one-blade to the many-blade, scissors, corkscrew. awl, bottle opener, etc., etc.
The cost will depend on the type of knife you choose.
My son bought himself a very nice Victorinox (Wenger) when we were there last summer...he bought a multi-tool knife with a natural wood casing. He paid about $140 for it. There are some that are much less expensive and much more expensive. If you don't want to pay too much, they sell inexpensive smaller versions that are perfect for smaller kids. It all depends on your budget! Keep in mind that when you return home you'll need to put them into your checked luggage or they will be taken away at the airport security line!
Olivia what Ed said is true: you will find same brands in the US, much less expensive than in Switzerland. What you will see there, however, are more varieties and combinations of tools than you will see here. Seems like on every block there, there are at least half a dozen places selling them, and it seemed to me, all at the same price.
As the previous poster says, there are all sorts of knives at all sorts of prices. Some sample prices:
The smallest knives, which can be put on a keyring with our keys, cost CHF 14.
The actual "Soldatenmesser", the one they currently issue to soldiers costs CHF 44. This is not red!
Most are in the range CHF 30 to CHF 60.
wow. too expensive when talking about 15 nephews.
thanks.

You could always try the Swiss Potato peeler.... Your nephews would learn a useful skill as well :-)
You can buy the Victorinox Swiss Army Pioneer Pocket Knife which was the standard issued knife for the Swiss military until 2008. It is very simple but cleverly designed to service the stgw. 57 rifle issued to Swiss soldiers. It is around $30 online.
15 Nephews?! Wow...you're braver than I am, I'm not sure I would arm 15 boys with pocket knives. ;-)
Hi Olivia,
Amazon has the classic types for $13-15. There's also a variety of colors - blue, green, pink etc. in the $20 range. You wouldn't need to check a suitcase.
