Swiss half fare pass vs Swiss half fare + Jungfrau travel pass? is the calculations right?

Hi All,

AS per the advice received in the forum, I was advised to get a jungfrau travel pass for a portion of my stay. I did some calculations & didn't find the 3 days JTP worth for the trips. Did I miss out anything? Pls advise. Thanks

TRIPS in CHF, Swiss half fare card price vs with Swiss half fare + JTP
Grindelwald to Interlaken OST return train 11 vs 0

Harder kulm return 22 vs 0

Grindelwald first with 1 activity 56 vs 31 (1 activity purchased as JTP doesn't cover activity)

Lake thun or brien (1 lake only) 33-40 (unsure of exact cost) vs 0

Jungfraujoch 123 vs 85 (for connecting ticket from Eigergletscher to the top as JTP doesn't cover)

Amt Spent 247CHF vs 116CHF

Swiss half fare =120CHF

Jungfrau travel pass 3 days=165CHF discounted with Swiss half fare

Both pass =285CHF

So meaning I spend 165CHF for the JTP pass but I am not saving anything as the swiss half fare costs me less? Did I miss out on something?

What you miss is that you can turn the things around.
Get the JTP, and use it to also visit the Männlichen, go to Lauterbrunnen, Mürren etc...

So in 3 days is your plan this?

1 day - Grindelwald First
1 day - Interlaken/HarderKulm/Boat Ride
1 day - Jungfraujoch

If so, your calculations are probably correct and just the HFC will be better for you. The pass would come in when you add more to your days, as WengenK says. For example you could do this with 3 full days if you start out early and like full days:

1 day - AM Jungfraujoch + PM Grindelwald First

1 day - AM Schynige Platte + PM Interlaken & Boat Ride + Harder Kulm for sunset

1 day - Lauterbrunnen + Mürren + Allmendhubel + Gimmelwald
