Swiss Flexipass and Swiss Half Fare Card

I am purchasing the Swiss Flex Pass and want to also purchase the Half Fare Pass for in-between days. Rick Steves' book says the Half Fare Pass is available for half-price ($60 instead of $122) if you have the Flex Pass. I am trying to purchase this on Rail Europe and the discount for the Half Fare Pass does not come up, only full price. I did a chat with Rail Europe and they did not understand my question, so they couldn't help me. I want the Flex Pass prior to my arrival in Switzerland as I will be arriving by train from Austria and will need to use the Flex Pass for that train ride.

Should I purchase the Flex Pass now on-line and get the Half Pass when in Switzerland? Will they give me the half price discount if I purchase the Flex on line and the Half Pass at the train station? Is there a way to purchase both Passes at the same time on-line and get the Half Pass at Half Price. Thank you in advance for any clarification!

I cannot comment directly on your question on discounted ½price cards.. But I would by direct from SBB (Swiss Railways) not a reseller in a different continent.
The page on the Flexi-Pass is here: http://www.sbb.ch/en/leisure-holidays/holidays--short-breaks-in-switzerland/swisstravelsystem/swiss-travel-pass.html

The page on the ½-price card is here: http://www.sbb.ch/en/leisure-holidays/holidays--short-breaks-in-switzerland/swisstravelsystem/swiss-halffare-card.html
Price is CHF 120 for 1 months. There is no mention of a discount if you also have a Flexi or any other sort of pass.

You can buy either pass online direct from SBB, or at a border or airport station when you arrive.

I believe they discontinued the 60 CHF supplemental Half Fare Cards for use with the Flex Pass or the Transfer Ticket. A straight 30-day Half Fare Card for 120 CHF is often a better value anyway.
