I applied for the Swiss Covid Pass for an upcoming trip to Zermatt. The proof I sent was my US vaccine card and they rejected it, saying it was not proof of being vaccinated. What other options are there to prove vaccinations?
Did you submit it with a copy of your passport and hotel or plane ticket? Does your CDC card have all this info:
• Last and first name(s) as they appear on your identity document.
• The country in which you were vaccinated.
• The body that issued the vaccination certificate.
• Information on the vaccine used.
• Number of vaccine doses received and the number of vaccine doses
deemed to constitute full vaccination in your country.• Stamp and signature of the person or office that carried out the
vaccination.
Others have received the Swiss covid certificate with no problems. Was there contact info. in the email? If you submitted all the documents correctly, the next step would be to contact the canton of Valais.
My wife had a helluva time getting Delta to online recognize her CDC card, we assume it's because her first two shots had printed shot info and the booster info was handwritten. Frankly the card is quite sloppy. We just keep resubmitting it and it finally registered.
Did you have any luck getting the covid certificate?
Sorry, I was talking about my experience with a trip to/from Paris.
We are planning on going to Switzerland in February for a ski trip so I decided to get the Swiss Covid Pass done early since my passport has my maiden name and my vaccine card had both my maiden and married name on it. (The fun of getting married in a pandemic).
Yesterday afternoon I submitted a photo of our passport, our CDC Vaccine Card, and our flight info in addition to the address of the first hotel we have reservation for. I did have to do a quick google as the Pfizer Bio-tech vaccine is known as "Comirnaty Biontech Manufacturing" and I put 3 of 3 dose as we both have received the booster and the date of the booster. Like some of you, our cards are hand written for the first two doses and then placed with a label on the third.
I did pay the 30 CHF per person for the COVID certificate and requested it over email. This morning, both mine and my husband certificates were approved and there was a pdf to download and print.
I was also able to download the app and then use the QR Code to add the certificates to the app. I am able to add both certificates to the app and then swipe back and forth to get to the right person. The only information you can see is you name and date of birth.
I will pack the paper Covid Certificates and have them in the email for backup but I am planning on using the app when I am in Switzerland.
We are planning on using the proctored Brix now antigen test within 24 hours on landing in Switzerland and to fly back home. We have used them for two cruises that we have taken and they are easy to use and can plan a head of time. We are leaving in less then three weeks so we are crossing our figures and toes that we are able to go.
I have read that there is also an EU Covid Pass (I think) we could get (instead of the Swiss Covid Pass), as we are planning on being in Switzerland end of Feb but then after a few days going to France (and we will be there for some time, so I was thinking instead we just get the EU Covid Pass instead). Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on that approach?
Hi craig, the EU covid pass is only available to EU citizens. Both France and Switzerland have covid passes/certificates that US citizens/tourists can apply for. From what I have read here on this forum, I believe the French pass would work in Switzerland and the Swiss pass would work in France. So, you could apply for one and possibly use in both countries.
Carrie/Craig…….we received an EU Digital Covid Certificate when we applied for France’s Passé Sanitaire for our trip in December…it can be used across EU borders. You can no longer apply online for the French Pass but you can take your passport and CDC Vaccination card to a pharmacy in France and for a fee they will convert it to an EU Covid Certificate.
Craig…if you are going to Switzerland first…I would apply for the Swiss Covid Pass.
