Swiss Covid app and French Pass Sanitaire

Hi all,

I just wanted to share the good news that the French Pass Sanitaire is compatible with the Swiss COVID Certificate smartphone app. So on the off-chance that you've received a QR code for France/Pass Sanitaire, then you can scan that code with the Swiss app! I think this was expected to be the case, but I just learned this first-hand.

For those of you that are traveling soon and are waiting to get a Swiss Covid Certificate, you might want to consider applying for the French Pass Sanitaire in parallel (of course that process comes with a different set of bureaucratic challenges, but it's good to have options). I assume the two certificates will be accepted by both countries for the near future (???).

It also works the other way around -- if you have a Swiss QR Code (for example, by using the Swiss federal system for certificates for foreign vaccinations), France's TousAntiCovid app will also successfully scan the Swiss QR code into the app!

If your travel takes you even a little into Switzerland you can apply for the Swiss pass, which is, in typical Swiss fashion, far easier and faster to obtain than the French one. We are not staying in Switzerland but departing from GVA. We had the Swiss pass in the promised seven days. Like clockwork. ;)

Indeed, this is true. It worked for us in late September. But in Switzerland we had no trouble presenting our CDC card or even the French pass. Please note that the French pass is pretty darn slow to arrive. At least it was in our case.
