Swiss and France Pass

Hi,

I am travelling to Switzerland and France for a total of 9 nights (6+3) and was thinking about buying a Swiss pass as suggested elsewhere in the Forum.

However, I came across the Swiss and France two country pass. Just wanted to know a few things

1) Will this 2 country pass cover my Zermatt - Laussane - Paris and my Paris-Zurich journeys as well
2) Will this pass cover all modes of transport including metro, bus etc in Paris - like the Swiss pass does in Switzerland

If not - what is the best way to travel in Paris and is it advisable to buy a "France only" pass for 3 days. I will not be travelling Disneyland for sure and could move to Zurich from Paris by Train. So do I need to buy zone 1-3 or should I still buy zone 1-5 France pass

Railpasses do not cover local bus/metro/RER transport in Paris. I would buy separate, reserved TGV tickets between Paris and Basel or Lausanne, preferably with advance-purchase discount. Try www.raileurope-world.com/ or https://www.capitainetrain.com/.

Multi-country passes give you less coverage in Switzerland, for instance giving you a discount instead of "full coverage" Brig-Zermatt or Brig-Disentis and lesser discounts on some mountain lifts; see our list of What Rail Passes Cover in Switzerland.

Hi Laura,

I had blocked a ticket from Paris to Zurich from capitainetrain.com on the TGV Lyria 9215 @ 190 euros for two tickets.

There is one small doubt. My flight is surely from Zurich Airport whereas the ticket is to Zurich HBL. So do i have to change a train at Zurich HBL and buy another ticket and go to Zurich Airport.

I was looking at another website which was giving a ticket till Zurich Airport, though at a slight higher price of 10 Euros more. So should i take that one or continue with the one from capitainetrain ticket
