Hello,
We plan to spend 7 days in Murren at the end of July. I looked at pricing for the Berner Oberland Pass and The Swiss Flex Pass (not to purchase each) for four people.
The total is over $1,600.
This seems high, but perhaps it's correct. If it is correct, are there more affordable ways to do this?
Thank you!
To me those two passes are an "OR", not "AND". The Swiss Travel Pass already gives you some discounts in the Berner Oberland. The Berner Oberland Pass does improve the discounts, but you'd have to do a lot to recoup the Fr. 220.- price, I think. You'd save 60 on Jungfraujoch, and really not sure about the rest.
You might just be better off with 4 Half Fare Cards, paying half-price tickets as you go. That's Fr. 480.- to start with. Then you need to do the math and see if the BO Pass is worth it.
I think you should buy the Half Fare Card and the 8-day Berner Oberland Pass. That will come to 370 CH per person, which is about $1600 total for 4 adults at current exchange rates.
Sam,
Thank you for the recommendation!
