Suggestions for a day in Geneva

Will be coming away from hiking and spending one day in Geneva before departure back to the states. Suggestions for a one-day itinerary?
Thanks!

Maybe take a bus over the bridge to the old town and wander around. If it's Wednesday, my wife and I would go to the gigantic flea market at Pleine de Pleinplais (or maybe spelled correctly). My wife really enjoyed the Red Cross Museum not far from the downtown train station (Cornavign).

A few years ago with one day we took the train to the other side of Lake Geneva to Chillon Castle. If I remember correctly, train to Montreux, bus to Chillon. It was a beautiful day and lunch overlooking the lake in Montreux was great.

If you've had your fill of museums, churches, castles and shopping, Before your trip home, I recommend the lake's public pier recreation area Bains des Paquis within the city center. For a small admission fee of 2 CHF you have access to changing rooms, swimming beaches, diving platforms, a climbing wall in the lake, saunas, and several enclosed areas for different groups - small children, women only, clothing optional, etc. Additionally, there's a delightful restaurant serving delicious well-prepared meals at extremely reasonable prices. It resembles an American style snack bar, but the surprising menu offerings are vastly superior and can be consumed inside a shaded eating area or taken out to the beach. And if you feel like taking a dip you will immerse yourself in gorgeous, crystal-clear water. A refreshing, relaxing way to end your journey!

Geneva is a lovely city. What to do is a bit depending on your interests but you could visit some of the international organisations if you want. The Red Cross museum is next to the UN headquaters. If the weather is good it could be lovely just to follow the lake to Jardin Botanique. The old town is an other alternative. Have a great day in one of my favorite cities!!
