Suggestions for 4 day itinerary

Hello Swiss experts- I would love to get advice from you on ' the best of Swiss in 4 days'.
I arrive in Zurich May 19th evening and will leave Zurich on 23rd. I have seen a bit of Zurich before but would love to do the train rides ( Gold and Bernina) as well as see Lucerne and Interlake. can this forum give me a reasonable itinerary that might work. I am traveling alone and am super flexible. thanks in advance.

Coming in and out by air or rail, or a mix?

Bernina is out of the way and heading south into Italy. Its great if you are going that way, but otherwise it is not going to work for a short visit. Luzern is easy to get to from Zurich, about one hour on the train from the airport. I'd stay there 2 nights. There are several mountaintop trains rides available from there. Then the Luzern-Interlaken Express train to Interlaken. It is a section of the Golden Pass and goes over the Bruenig Pass. Two nights there, and back to Zurich.

Depending on your timing, it might be better to go to Interlaken first as it is about 2 1/4 hours from Zurich airport. then go to Luzern. There are direct trains in just over an hour to Zurich airport so easy to catch a morning flight.

Couple more quick Qs-
1. Is Airbnb a better option to stay or BnB/ Hotels while at Interlake/ Lucerne?
2. Is the 2x cost worth it for the first class SBB pass or the 2nd class is good enough. I am not a fussy traveler but like some comfort.
thanks!

2nd class is perfectly fine with me. 2 x 2 seating vs 1 x 2 in 1st. You are not taking any long journeys. 1st class pass is about 60% more than 2nd. For what you are doing, a pass may not be the best deal, but it is convenient. Depends on what extra trips you will be doing.
