Suggestions and Assistance with Itinerary - 12 Days in Switzerland

We are landing in Zurich July 2. Taking a train to interlaken where we are staying for 6 days. We plan on doing many day trips in the area. Including but not limited to

  • St beatus Caves Kinderstag 3 waterfalls hike Bern Jungfraugh or schilthorn

Then we go to Zermatt for 3 nights. We plan on glaciar skiing, mountain biking and hiking.
Glaciar express from Zermatt to Mt. Rigi via Andermatt

Hang out for 2 nights at Mt Rigi mineral spa hotel. Maybe go up Mt.pilatus while we are there.

1 night in Zurich and then fly back home from zurich.

We plan on getting the swiss travel flex pass, or maybe half fare. I need to do the math.

Interlaken is perhaps not the best place for 6 days. If you take a train 20 minutes further to Lauterbrunnen, you will be right in the mountain valley that you will no doubt want t visit anyway and will pass through on your way to Muerren, Wengen, and other beautiful points such as the Schilthorn or Jungfraujoch.

Yes, do the math on passes. With extended time in the Berner Oberland (Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen and vicinity) the Berner Oberland Regional Pass may make sense PLUS a half-fare card. In a similar trip for us, that was the magic combo.
