Has anyone been? It looks amazing. Is it worth it? We arrive in Zurich April 20th. Trying to decide if we should go straight to Stoos area and stay or stay in Lucerne and commute by train there. Any advice?

The "Stoosbahn" is not a mountain, nor does it serve a mountain. it serves the village of Stoos.
It is of course special, in that it is the steepest funicular in Switzerland (and possible the world) and has these cool rotating cabins. If you want to go there you can of course.
Just use www.sbb.ch to plan your trip, and chose "Stoos SZ" as destination.
