Staying Zurich area 1 night, hotel recommendations

We will be staying in the Zurich area on the last leg of our trip and have a very early flight out the next morning. Was looking for hotel recommendations that would provide transportation the the airport as the hotels we've looked with shuttles don't start running until 5:30am.. need to be at airport by 4:30am -

We have a car and can attempt to return car the night before - or early in the morning, just not sure what direction to take?-

RadissonBlu is right IN the airport----you just go downstairs and check in for your flight---at least we did for our BA flight a few years ago.

It is very nice and surprisingly quiet, given the location. Price is high but booking well in advance helps. Sometimes they have a good prepaid rate.

if you do some google you'll see that there are several hotels at the airport. We stayed at the Hilton and it worked fine. There is a shuttle, don't know what hours it runs but in fact if you look on google earth you'll see that it's not impossible to walk to the terminal, as long as you don't have a lot of bags and they have wheels. Or you could arrange for a lift the night before? You DO NOT want to try and return a car at 330 in the morning, now do you?

Google says that is 2.1 km walk from the Hilton to the passenger terminal entrance---want to do that in the dark, with luggage?

If you stay near but not in the airport at the Radisson, arrange for a taxi. Unless you can find a hotel with shuttles that run that early.

Thanks to all for your feedback, with the early flight time the Radisson becomes the easy choice.

1.2 mile walk? Some people would do that in their sleep, others wouldn't do it on a dare.

us,

With a departure that early, staying right at the airport is probably your best bet as the first direct trains to the airport don't start running until 05:02. Travel time on the direct trains is only 10-12 minutes, so the earliest you could be at the airport is 05:14.

I dont know if i missed you, but i just returned from zurich and spent the night at the transit hotel. Google transit hotel at zrh and info will come up. It is great for an early morning flight

The transit hotel have single, double rooms plus couches that lie flat with a curtain for privacy. The single room is 95 chf and couch is 45 chf for overnight. There are showers in the hallway. Is by gate b/d and need a boarding pass to enter, i just used the kiosk the night before for priority access, then show your passport at security , and find your way to the hotel . It is next to swiss lounge.
The web site has photos of the rooms. I would stay there again. Much cheaper than hotels by airport or in city

Is that like the capsule hotels they have in Japan?

I have not stayed at the capsules in japan, but I have seen pictures. The couches in zrh is in one big room, they let me look at this room to choose which couch, then they said there was a room vacant and that i can look at that one too. I decided to take the room, there are windows that overlook the planes at the gate area and you have a good view of the cockpit, plus a sink in each room and tv in each room.
The couches lie flat with blanket and locker for stuff, only 2 couches have window view, plus i think there were 20 couches thus mixed, coed. There was a wall inbetween each couch and curtain.
