Staying in Lauterbrunnen Valley

I'm planning 4 days in the valley for next spring. We will be doing some light hiking, some spa days, biking and just viewing the scenery. I am looking for recommendations for a hotel that has a location where we can easily access all this. We know that some days will involve trains and lifts, but that is OK. I really want to find a nice hotel that is close to good dining options as well.

Thanks in advance for all advice!

We stayed at Hotel Staubbach. Very wonderful! Great staff and breakfast. Also nice common areas for lounging and one with a fridge to keep any food stuff with dishes and tables you can use.

We were there mid May and many of the upper hikes were not yet open. So didn't get to hike higher elevations or take the cable/trains to peaks. We still had a lovely visit. Two years prior we were there at the end of May and everything was open and weather was quite warm. Just FYI to keep in mind.

I have a reservation at the Hotel Oberland for next April. They had great reviews for both hotel and restaurant. Also, it’s just a 5-minute walk from the train station. Oh, and free breakfast too. They'll pack you one to go if you want to do some early hiking.

Enjoy your trip!!

Most places in this area include free bfast and offering to pack your bfast for you is nice and also fairly common here.

Marc,

I'm not sure there are any hotels in the Lauterbrunnen Valley that offer Spa facilities. Interlaken probably has some but I'm sure they're going to be very pricey. You could also check Grindelwald as that's larger and more "touristy" or Wengen.

You might find it helpful to have a look at a few Switzerland guidebooks as there will be good information in those.

We spent 3 nights at Hotel Oberland in Lauterbrunnen 2 weeks ago. Room was very nice, breakfast was free and good. The hotel restaurant was also very good. Make reservations in the evening as they get busy. It’s a 5 minute walk to the train station and also to the cable car up to Grutschalp, where you can take a train (or hike) to Mürren. At the main train station in Lauterbrunnen you can easily connect to trains to Interlaken, Wengen, Grindelwald, Kleine Scheidegg, Schynige Platte.

Also, there are spa services in Mürren at the sports center. You can google it to see all they offer. We didn’t use, but it looks like a very nice and complete facility.

Thanks to all for the advise and opinion. It has been a few years since I've spent any time in Switzerland so I appreciate the assistance.
