Staying 2 nights 1 day in Wegmen Dec 26-27

Hello. I will have one full day in Wengen. I know I should have stayed longer, but next time!

Thank you for your insights!

Yes I would love a suggested itinerary that includes the falls in Lauterbrunnen !! Thanks in advance!

Note that the 26th is a holiday and most grocery stores will be closed (they close already early on the 24th, some at 5:00pm, and remain closed until the 27th). Large train stations usually have shops that are open, so if you are traveling through one on your way to Wengen, that will be the time to grab any snacks or whatever you might need.

For the waterfalls: Walk through Lauterbrunnen, heading toward Stechelberg. It should be beautiful with all the new snow. Waterfalls can be frozen in winter, so not usually as interesting as during the rest of the year, it just depends on how cold it is.

You can take the new cable car up to Mürren, walk through town, train to Grütschalp and back to Lauterbrunnen.

In Wengen there are some nice walking paths, or head up to Männlichen. All of this will be very beautiful.

With a heavy snowfall like what is in progress now, there is an increased level of avalanche possibility. Stay on the marked paths and be sure any hikes/walks you want to do are open.

Thank you for the reply. That sounds like a wonderful itinerary. I was on the glacier express this morning and about an hour into it the train had to return to Chur, ttrack issues. Now I will be going from Chur to Zurich , then Bern, Visp then Andermatt. I understand, but a bit disappointed. When I was going to Chur, the whole track was closed due a suicide. That was awful because people were sitting on the floor. Luckily I got a seat!
