Stay in Geneva, go into France

Can one cross the border from Geneva on public transport into Annemasse France.

trains every 10 or 15 minutes, takes 21 or 23 minutes

There are trams, too (line 17). Slower but more stops within Geneva (closer to the center) so it can be more convenient.

The S Bahns ( 1 - 5 ) also known as Leman Express trains connect Cornavin Station in Geneva to Annemasse via the new CEVA network .

You can, but you will notice a big difference in living standards. This is also the reason why hotels in Annemasse are cheaper.
