My wife and I will be taking the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz. From St. Moritz we will head to Tirano. We have a Rail Pass that covers Germany and Switzerland. We have already reserved our tickets for Glacier Express but I am looking to reserve our tickets from St. Moritz to Tirano. Am I able to reserve these tickets that includes our rail passes? How I understand it is since our passes cover Switzerland our train to Tirano is also included. However when I go to sbb.ch to reserve our train from St. Moritz to Tirano I can't find an option for reservation only or to include our rail passes. Any suggestions or is it unnecessary to reserve the tickets at all?
It is only necessary to reserve if you want to travel on the Bernina Express train with panorama cars. Regular trains also ply the route on an hourly basis with regular rail cars and do not need to be reserved.
You can book on the Bernina Express site.
The Bernina Express website only list the trains that are specifically through that company. Their afternoon train departs at 3:12 pm. There are other trains available that connect St. Mortiz to Tirano. Due to our schedule we need to take the train that departs St. Moritz at 4:46 pm.
However, when I searched from the Rhaetian Railway website (connected to the Bernina Express) I was able to book the tickets with our Rail Passes included. Thank you.
