I was curious if anyone has visited the abbey library in St Gallen and, if so, any tips or impressions?
We will be nearby and could squeeze in a quick afternoon stop. As a bibliophile- I would love to visit this historic place and its collections.
The church and the library are very beautiful and if your there you should go inside. What I remember most was the sage green walls, the beautiful woodwork and putting big slippers over my shoes to not scratch the floors. I'm sure you will consider a "worthy" visit. J
You will not be disappointed. The collections are magnificent and the architecture of the library is outstanding. It was built in the early 1700's. It is well worth the time.
Thank you for the feedback!
