We are arriving in Wengen from Paris. My plan is to do 5 nights Wengen, 1 night Lucerne, 1 night Zurich. We must stay in Zurich on the last night (at least I think we should), because our flight is at 9:20am from Zurich back to the US the next morning. I really don't want to do just 1 night each at the end, but I can't think of a better plan. I've heard so many good things about Wengen, I figured we should maximize time there. Does anyone have any advice or other suggestions?

Stay in Luzern the last 2 nights. Luzern has a direct rail link to the Zurich airport and will get you there in 70 minutes. Trains leave every 30 minutes. Leave Luzern at 6:30 and you can be in the airport by 8.

Last 2 nights in Luzern is possible, if a bit tight.
Assuming you want to be at the airport 2 hours before your 09:20 flight, you have the following trains from Luzern to choose from (times from the Swiss Federal Railways website: https://www.sbb.ch/en ):
Luzern dep 04:55, Zürich Flughafen arr 06:13
Luzern dep 05:28, Zürich Flughafen arr 06:42
Luzern dep 06:10, Zürich Flughafen arr 07:16
If you decide on 1 night at Zürich, I would make it at the airport. Stopping in Zürich city is little advantage over Luzern.
