spending a day in Zurich

Will have 1 day in Zurich at the end of our 12 day RS tour. Recommendations of sights? We are staying in old town. We heard a lake cruise is a must but don't see any that aren't part of another walking/cable tour.

The art museum (Kunsthaus Zurich), is a bit of a walk from center city and uphill. Just hop on a tram (#3, #5, or #9) and get off at the Kunsthaus stop.

If you want to go up to a view point, take the S-10 to Uetliberg for a view overlooking the city and the surrounding area.

Boats on the lake are public transportation, so you can do a round trip very easily.

Breakfast at Sprungli, buy some chocolates and Luxemburgerli (small bite-size macaroons). Walk a few feet to Fraumunster, get audio guide, go to Marc Chagall windows, sit and listen to audio (if I remember it windows start at #10). Then take chocolate walking tour through town. Just look up shops and plan your route (Laderach, Lindt, Teuscher, Max to name a few), buy more chocolates. Maybe walk up Lindenhof for nice view.

If you buy a ZurichCard at the TI in the train station (hotels may as also carry), available in 24 hours and 72 hours, this includes a 90 minute Roundtrip boat excursion.
Nice on a sunny day, but maybe not if you haven't seen the highlights of Zurich yet. It also offers a reduction on the 90 minute guided walking tour of Zurich. Usually with german and English commentary.
