Snow on March - where?

I have already been in switzerland few times.
However, this time we go during Mid March with children.
We do not ski but want sledding, snowshoe, play in snow and fulll atmosohere of snowy place with views of trees with snow. Not limited arra for ski and besides of it green.

When look at the March 2023 I see all places with high temperatures (5-15) while only zermatt or saas fee with low temperatures.

I can have in my budget good hotel in Klosters or basic hotel in Tasch near zermatt.
Murren is also an option but also high temperatures last March. Also have been in murren few times during summers.

What do you suggest? I am afraid of found myself in Klosters with no snow but rain and only limited snow with some green in mountains.

What do you think?

I don’t think anyone is going to be able to predict what the temperatures are going to be or the snow levels.

Most ski resorts will have those activities available in March. But you may not have snow in the village itself however. March is spring at lower altitudes, but higher up on the slopes it will still be skiing season.

So if you are looking for a picturesque winter wonderland snowed in village I am afraid you are going to be too late for that. Got to Graubunden in January if that is what you are after.

It's hard to predict the weather that far in advance.

But if snowy landscapes in March is important, you can also consider the Scandinavian mountains.

So it means for the village itself no difference between zermatt and klosters.

And activities in the mountains: still full blanket of white snow alll over or some green/ dark snow/ice?
For example: any difference sledding in Madrisa or sledding Rotenboden to Riffelberg in zermatt?
Or in any of them usually higher chances of good sledding, snowshoes trails and snowy views like in winter?

Will i be able to know from weather forecast 8-10 before how it is going to be? I have made one reservation in Klosters and one in Tasch near zermatt and can cancell until 8-10 days before.
Any specific accurate weather website?

Madrisa sledding has little chance of being open in mid-March, as it is south-facing and relatively low.
However, the sledding in higher Davos (Schatzalp & Rinerhorn) and in Klosters itself (Gotschnaboden) have a good chance of being open, and there is good winter hiking in the valley southeast of Klosters.
This being said, the Engadin, less than 1 hour from Klosters, is 600 metres higher and colder than Klosters. It is a safer bet for snow all over.
And so is Zermatt!

By the way, make sure that your travel insurance covers sledding as an activity. The risk of injury is high. You will want a helmet (can be rented) and grippy shoes (the shop at Rinerhorn in Davos even insisted we rent cleats, and they were right, given how steep and hard-packed the tobogganing run was).

Just got back from Zermatt and Saas Fee. Snow conditions off the Gornergrat are very good right now and I would expect them to be good in March. There is also sledding in Saas Fee, but check conditions before you go. To get to Saas Fee from Taesch, take the train down to Stalden and change to the 511 bus to Saas Fee. You can get off at the Saas Grund gondola station for the run there, or continue on the the Saas Fee Bus Terminal and then the shuttle bus to the lift station from there.
