Sim Card

Hi,
We are travelling to Switzerland for 2 weeks. I am from Vancouver, Canada. My phone is not compatible for an e-sim card (electronic). I would have to buy a physical Sim card either before I leave for the trip or upon arriving at the airport. Does anyone have experience with purchasing a Sim card at the Zurich airport and which kind is the best?
Thanks!
Diane

Or, just turn on international usage on your current plan. That's what I do now and it's just much simpler.

Do some google to see what the Swiss carriers are and compare their SIM plans for travelers, they are all going to be fairly similar. You need to decide how much you're going to use the phone for calls AND data.

Diane,

It would help to know what type of phone you're using, and which cell network you're with? As the previous reply mentioned, you could simply use an international roaming package with your home network, but that may depend on the specifics of your plan. That option is. bit expensive, but I've never found that to be a problem. Another option would be to use a travel SIM such as this one - https://cellularabroad.com/product/switzerland-sim-card/ . There are several other companies offering travel SIM's but I can't remember all of them.

Hi, if you can not use an eSim, you can always rent a pocket wifi unit. Easy to use and you can connect several devices to the same unit. iSpot Connect is a Swiss company renting out pocket wifi units.
