I see that Luzern station has a shower facility. We will be coming in from Zurich airport around 11 AM. Hoping to shower and explore Luzern for a few hours. Do the shower facilities offer towels, or do we have to use our own?

Having not had the need to take a shower at Luzern station, I cannot answer. If I recall from the one opportunity I had to shower at Schipol airport years ago, towels were part of the fee.
I will say that if you intend to explore Luzern for a few hours before heading to Buergenstock, there are many lockers of all sizes at Luzern station and they operate with credit cards.
