Should we get a Swiss Travel Pass, Half Fare Card or something else?

My husband and I will fly into Zurich on April 27th. We will stay 3 nights in Lucerne, one in Zermatt and 3 in Wengen then on to Germany. We will be using the train for transportation probably every day. When we are in Lucerne we might take a boat around the lake and when we are in Wengen we will want to see Interlaken, Grindelwald and maybe a few other little toens.

Where does Zurich fit in this? You do not mention staying there, but doing a lake boat trip. Better lake boat trips will be had in Luzern, all covered by the STP.

My apologies, I meant boat in Lucerne. We are flying in to Zurich but then saying in Lucerne.

Are you planning on going up any tourist mountain tops (Rigi, Pilatus, Titlis, Schilthorn, Jungfraujoch, Gornergrat, etc)? That could affect the answer.

This is a bad analogy, but I think having 3 days in Wengen and using time to see Interlaken is like having a week in NYC and using a day to visit Albany. Like, you could do it, and there's stuff to see...but why? You already are where you're meant to be.
