Schynige Platte Flowers

Are the flowers at Schynige Platte gone by the 20th of September?

Yes, no flowers in September. We were there September 23, 2022 and the flowers were all bloomed over. A friend of ours had been there in June and raved about the flowers at Schynige Platte.
A bonus for being in Switzerland in September: You might see the Cow Parade!

If you are interested in wildflowers, I have found June to be the perfect time to go. Flowers everywhere.

Definitely will be gone. It’s not even September and here in Mürren + surrounding areas 90% are gone already. By September 20th, snow is a very real possibility. We had quite a bit of snow in July this year and the weather is starting to turn towards fall this week.

Thanks all for the replies. My previous trips were June/July. My agenda is super flexible so I will look to see what wonderful things September provides me.

September is prime hiking season in Switzerland. While snow can happen in the mountains at any time of year, in my experience, it's quite rare in September. I haven’t personally encountered snow at that time, and conditions are usually excellent: cooler temperatures, clear paths, and no summer heat to sap your energy. It’s a favourite time for many Swiss hikers to be out enjoying the mountains. I think you’ll really enjoy it!
