Schilthorn Piz Gloria Construction

Hello!
Going to BO in august. Has anyone been to Piz Gloria during construction? Is it still worthwhile to visit even though they are working in the area?
From the livecams, it looks like the view from Allmendhubel still looks great. How is the view at Piz Gloria?

I've been stressing over our itinerary in BO and was considering skipping Jungfraujoch to do a day in Lauterbrunnen Valley based on things I've read (not into the super touristy nature of Jungfraujoch).
Considering doing this: Train from Grindelwald to Lauterbrunnen- 35 min with 1 change. Then, walk from Lauterbrunnen to Trummelbach Falls>>Continue walking to the Stechelberg Schilthornbahn station>>Take the cable car to Gimmelwald>>Walk around Gimmelwald>>Take the cable car to Murren>>Walk down the main road to the Murren BLM train station>>Take the train to Grutschalp>>Visit Schilthorn Piz Gloria

Anyone have any input?

IMO, the weather the day of, should decide your itinerary. That is, if it's good in the morning up on top, head for the Schilthorn first thing and then work your way down. The T-falls can be visited even when it's raining so it would be the lowest priority.

I was there about a month ago. The construction is just by the lift at Murren (at 5700 feet) up to Piz Gloria (which is at 9700 feet) and has no bearing on the view. You won't have any problems going up and coming down. Just follow the best practice when visiting mountain tops: check the weather the night before and the morning of; if the weather is clear go up as early as possible for the best visibility and to avoid the crowds (tourists will be coming from all points in Switzerland) that come after 10 am.

Oh and the lift at Stechelberg (aka the Schilthornbahn ) connects to the lift up to Piz Gloria at Murren and not from Grutschalp.

Ditto on the other replies; definitely check the weather early in the morning, and if it's clear head up to Schilthorn Piz Gloria.

Trummelbach Falls and Lauterbrunnen Valley are impressive, and if it's cloudy or even raining, they are still impressive. There is a bus running from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg with stops near Trummelbach, so if you're running short on time after enjoying Schilthorn, Murren, etc., you can take a bus part of the way and walk part of the way in the valley.

All the best,

Raymond

Ditto what Jazz+Travels said. When you take the cablecar from Gimmelwald to Mürren, you just continue up the Schilthorn on the same cablecar line. You do not walk through town to the train station and head to Grutschalp until you are ready to head home. That cablecar at Grutschalp takes you back down to Lauterbrunnen.

I'd probably do this because I'd prefer more time in Murren, Schilthorn and Gimmelwald instead of spending too much time at Trummelbach, which is also very touristy and crowded.

Grindelwald > Zweilutchinen > Lauterbrunnen > Grutschalp > Murren > Walk through Murren (optional Allmendhubel) > Schilthorn > Birg > Murren (optional nice walk down to Gimmelwald or take the cable car) > Gimmelwald (walk around, eat) > Stechelberg > if you still have time, go to Trummelbach Falls > return to Grindelwald

Or do as you mentioned, but skip Trummelbach Falls...

Grindelwald > Zweilutchinen > Lauterbrunnen > walk to Stechelberg > Gimmelwald > Murren > Schilthorn > Birg > Murren (walk around, optional Allmendhubel) > Grutschalp > Lauterbrunnen > return to Grindelwald via Z.

Thanks all!
I know everyone is different, but do you all think Spending a Day in Lauterbrunnen is a better idea than spending a day taking the trip up to Jungfraujoch? We are staying in Grindelwald. (we are going Zermatt and hoping to see the Matterhorn before we arrive in BO)

We are in BO for 4 days and this is what we were thinking (can move the days around based on weather). We don't want to be rushed during this trip.

Day 1 of 4: train to BO in the morning (from Zermatt) Explore Grindelwald town.
Day 2 of 4: day trip to Lake Brienz (1 hour away by train, with 1 change)
Day 3 of 4: First Cliff walk- 30 min away by train. Bachalpsee Hike, maybe mountain carts down (5 hours)
Day 4 of 4:
Jungfraujoch (1 hour and 20 minutes each way) and Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg hike
OR
spend the day in Lauterbrunnen ( as discussed previously, see Gimmelwald, Murren, Schlithorn)

Thoughts? is there anything that can be combined?
I really wanted to do Mannlichen hike based on the pictures but I'm not sure if its silly to do the hike and not go up to Jungfraujoch since you're already partially up there. I was also interested in Schynige Platte Panorama Ridge Trail, but I'm not sure we have time to fit that in, or where it makes the most sense to go. I'm afraid I'm picking the wrong things to do!

Having been to the top of Jungfraujoch and not as early as possible to avoid the rush of the crowds, I think It is easier and more appealing to pass through Lauterbrunnen valley on your way up to Gimmelwald, Murren and the top of the Schilthorn than going all the way up to Jungfraujoch. But I'd try to incorporate the walk from Mannlichen to Kleine Schiedeg. I have been to that area 5 times ( I spent 1 day just get a taste the first time; and then 3days, 4days, 4days, 4days) in the last 7 years in order to cover everything. I am usually going to Italy or France after Switzerland.
