My husband and I love Scenic photography. Tour ends on a Thursday morning in Bern. Thinking about traveling by train to Interlaken (1 hr), get there about 11 a.m. Spending the day. Leaving by train to zurich that evening about 7 pm. Flying home the next day Friday) Thinking we would like to see more of Berner Oberlan area than we are allowed on tour. Does this sound like a good idea? Or is there another area we should check out that isn't included on the tour. The tour includes Lucerne, Appenzell, lake Lugano, Zermatt, Lausanne, Chateau de Chillon, Murren, and Bern. Only 1.5 days in the Murren area. I MIGHT even persuade my husband to leave on Saturday. Thank you for any advice. First trip to Switzerland.

No one is ever ready to leave the Berner Oberland.
Whatever you have to do , maximize your time there.

I did the Switzerland Tour in June, my first trip there. Most people here suggest more time in the Berner Oberland, and I went to Wengen for 3 days after the tour. I was happy with my choice.

I didn't really do much in Wenger because I was a bit under the weather and just enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. I took the cable car up to Männlichen and wandered. I would have walked to Kleine Scheidegg, but the trail was still closed when I was there.
