We will have a rental car and would like to take a scenic route some of the way. We may be leaving from Meiringen instead if plans change. Any advice would be nice!

I know this isn't what you asked but...
The much more scenic route is from Fuessen to Appenzell. Love me some Appenzell, some mountains, and some cows :)
