I have tried the last two days to receive a SMS code for security check to purchase HFC
Im recording +1 followed by my 10 digit cell. Not received. Any advice

We buy through Happy Rail every year and it’s in your email almost instantly, never any issues.

Is it necessary to purchase a Swisspass first or is the HFC considered a SwissPass?
I’m assuming passes are available for non residents.
I selected date card valid from
My name and BD pops up as I have sighed in a created a profile.
There’s option to start security check
As I have not had a previous transportation card site my identity must be verified
Provide my cell preceded by +1
Never received verification code to proceed

Are you sure you are booking the Visitor Half-Fare card good for 30 days and not the one for Swiss citizens?

No need to provide any personal info for this card except name and DOB (day-month-year).

Do make sure you are buying the correct Half-Fare Card. As stated above, the Visitor card is what you want—120 CHF for a HF card good for 30 days. Use the purchase link in the post above mine.
The term “Swiss Pass” is confusing. There is a Swiss Pass (aka Swiss Travel Pass) that one can purchase to fully cover train travel. But if written as one word, SwissPass, it refers to your login to your SBB account.
While you can purchase the Half Fare card as a guest without creating a SwissPass account, I feel it is a good idea to have the account because you can always access your tickets and Half Fare Card ( or other Swiss Travel Pass) by logging in to your SwisPass account.

You can always just buy the HFC at the station when you arrive here. That is often the easiest way.
