sbb.ch site "It was not possible to make the reservation from Spiez to Brig...

... a technical exception occured." I'm trying to make reservations from Interlaken Ost to Venezia via Spiez and Brig and received this message for a September 20 departure. Is this just a fluke thing and I'll be able to make the reservation later or do I need to email an SBB staff member as they suggest to get pricing?

Based on other posts, I'm only going to make the reservation from Interlaken Ost to Venezia and then get ourselves from Muerren to Interlaken using one of the many ways you all have suggested. I don't want to miss the 8:00a departure from Interlaken Ost since that is the only train that will get us into Venice early enough.

Also, we have a Swiss Pass and I see where I enter it in the booking process as "GA2.cl, 1 year/GA Subscription." Our 13 year old is traveling free on the Family Card so do I enter her ticket info the same? Or is it considered the "Junior Card"?

Thank you.

All of this would be easier to do at a train station, such as when you have the pass activated. It is too early to reserve most trains in Switzerland or Italy and Interlaken-Speiz-Brig don't require reservations. The part that requires a reservation is Brig-Venice (direct departure at 9:11) or Speiz-Milan and Milan-Venice. The Swiss site probably can't sell tickets for a separate Milan-Venice leg, but the train station staff can, or Trenitalia.com (max 3 months ahead of the travel date). The Family Card does count as Junior Card.

Via the Swiss Rail site just purchase a ticket/reservation for the Brig to Venezia segment of the journey. The Swiss rail site will sell you a ticket from Brig all the way to Venice via Milan. In the "reductions" section select "none". From Murren to Brig you can purchase the tickets for those legs at the cable car or train station on the day of the journey, or simply hop-on if you are using your Swiss Pass; no advance reservations required.

Thanks for the responses. I see on the sbb site that I can book Brig to Venice. Is there any saving doing it more than 90 days in advance?
