I have been looking at trains on the website and I have selected the half fare card option but I am confused by some pricing that shows up. I wish I could post a picture but what is shows is a price on the right side of the fare "from CHF 13.50" for one train with a white back ground and then the next train 25 minutes later shows a price of "% from CHF 10.80" with a black background. Nothing I can find indicates what the difference is between the white background and/or the % sign on the black background. Why the difference? I'm baffled, which doesn't mean much because I am easily baffled.
What route on what day?
Zurich to Luzern
7/26/25 12:10
A reglar ticket Zurich to Luzern, with HFC is 13,60. That ticket gives you one trip from Zurich to Luzern, but you are not bound to the departure you selected when you bought it, so can ttavel earlier or late. The ticket is also refundable, and the same price a year or a minute before departure...
The discounted tickets are not refundable, and you must travel on the train you selected. So the % sign is to draw attention to the faxt that for that train discounted tickets are available.
You can see for yourself by clicking on that train (12:25 departure), then click on the red block "Tickets from 10.80 CHF".
The next page will show this:
1× Supersaver Ticket, Half-Fare Travelcard
Valid: Sat, 26.07.2025 dep 12:35
until Sat, 26.07.2025 13:25

Below it will show the Supersaver Ticket box checked and an explanation of the restrictions. Above is an unchecked box marked Point-to-point +CHF 2.70, So if you check that box, it will revert to the 13.50 CHF price. good on any train that day.
